Editorial policy

Auto insurance is a subject where bad information costs people money and, occasionally, coverage. This page sets out how we produce content and how you can hold us to it.
Who writes this
Every page carries a named author and a visible date showing when its facts were last checked against a primary source. Those are the people accountable for what is on it:
- Gaby Valencia, Insurance Content Editor
Where our information comes from
We cite primary sources and link to them. In practice that means:
- State departments of insurance for minimum coverage requirements, filing rules, SR-22 and FR-44 obligations, and consumer complaint data.
- The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) for market and complaint statistics.
- The Insurance Information Institute (III) for industry-wide figures.
- The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for vehicle safety and loss data.
- Statute and regulation directly, where a legal requirement is being described.
We do not cite other insurance blogs, comparison sites, or content farms as sources of fact. If a claim only exists downstream of another marketing site, we do not publish it.
Review and updating
- Every article carries a named author, linked to a bio page setting out their credentials, and a visible date showing when its facts were last verified.
- Anything describing a legal requirement — minimum limits, filing rules, at-fault or no-fault status — is verified against the relevant state authority before publication and re-verified at least annually.
- Pages are reviewed when the underlying rule changes, not only on a schedule.
- We update the date only when the content actually changed. We do not refresh dates to look current.
Editorial independence
This site is funded by advertising, which is disclosed on every page that compares and in full on our advertiser disclosure. Advertisers do not review our content before it is published, and no partner can pay to change how a coverage type, a carrier category, or a buying decision is described.
Where our commercial interest and a reader’s interest diverge, we say so on the page. Shopping around is not always the right answer, bundling is not automatically cheaper, and the cheapest policy is often not the one you want after a claim.
What we will not publish
- Savings claims we cannot source, or projections of what a specific reader will save.
- Any suggestion that this site is affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of a government agency or program.
- Any suggestion of partnership with or endorsement by a carrier.
- Content generated without human review, or content whose factual claims have not been checked against a primary source.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, tell us at support@quotematchpros.com. We correct factual errors as soon as they are confirmed. Substantive corrections are noted on the page rather than made silently.
